This position is initially offered as a two-year fixed-term contract.

Your Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform functional testing of nanopositioner products within defined production workflows to ensure compliance with performance requirements.
  • Define, develop, and continuously improve test methods for low-temperature (cryogenic) environments and ultra-high vacuum (UHV) conditions in line with real customer applications.
  • Ensure that test methods are fit for purpose with respect to accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility.
  • Document and maintain test methods, work instructions, and operating procedures.
  • Create and maintain product conformity records to ensure traceability and compliance.
  • Work closely with Production and Production Planning to ensure the required operational throughput.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure robust validation and verification of our products.
  • Support and continuously improve Quality Assurance processes, tools, and ways of working in alignment with quality, environmental, energy, and occupational health and safety management systems.
  • Actively contribute to non-conformance management, including root cause analysis as well as the definition and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain a professional laboratory environment through structured workplace organization (e.g., 5S) and proactive maintenance of equipment and test assets.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Alternatively, a technical vocational qualification with relevant experience in laboratory or testing environments, or in precision mechanics.
  • Strong understanding of functional testing and measurement technology.
  • Experience working in laboratory or demanding test environments (e.g., vacuum technology or cryogenics is an advantage).
  • Structured and analytical approach to work, with a strong focus on reliability and reproducibility.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across interfaces between Production, R&D, and Engineering.
  • High degree of personal responsibility and strong quality awareness.
  • Good written and spoken English skills; German language skills are an advantage.
