As an Application Engineer (all genders), you will serve as the vital link between the needs of our international customers and the technological possibilities of tomorrow. Working closely with our R&D and Sales teams, you will transform ideas into innovative solutions, guiding them from the initial concept all the way to successful implementation and real-world application

Your Responsibilities and Duties

  • You provide technical consulting to our international customers in high-tech industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, photonics, precision metrology, and aerospace, supporting them with complex technical challenges.
  • You analyze demanding application requirements and translate them into innovative, practical, and scalable system concepts.
  • You design and implement customer-specific solutions, ranging from feasibility studies and engineering services to complete system integration.
  • You plan and conduct sophisticated test measurements and application validations, helping to unlock new use cases and opportunities for our technologies.
  • You present and demonstrate our solutions in customer workshops and training sessions, as well as at international conferences and trade shows.
  • You collaborate closely with our R&D, Sales, and Product Management teams, actively contributing your ideas to the development of next-generation products and technologies.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Successfully completed a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Physics, Photonics, Optics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Passion for solving complex technical challenges, combined with strong analytical thinking and a structured approach to developing innovative solutions.
  • Programming skills, ideally in Python, for developing application software, analyzing measurement data, and gaining a deeper understanding of system behavior at the application level.
  • Initial hands-on experience in high-tech applications, precision metrology, or the semiconductor industry is considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge in at least one of the following areas: optical metrology, precision mechanics, sensor technology, or nanotechnology.
  • Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills, with proficiency in both German and English.
  • Willingness to travel internationally on an occasional basis.
