As a (Senior) Operations Controller, you will act as a trusted business partner for our Operations and Production functions, supporting leaders with meaningful analyses and decision-relevant performance indicators. In addition, you will play an active role in shaping key future initiatives, including the implementation of a management profit and loss reporting framework, the further development of our Power BI reporting landscape, and the continuous evolution of a modern controlling organization.

Your Responsibilities and Duties

  • Business Partner for Operations & Production: You serve as the primary finance contact for our operational departments, partnering closely with leaders and providing guidance on all financially relevant topics.
  • Operations & Production Controlling: You analyze cost, material, productivity, and operational performance indicators, conduct plan-versus-actual comparisons and variance analyses, and derive actionable recommendations to support operational performance and continuous improvement. You are also responsible for the monthly inventory valuation process and support the organization and evaluation of the annual physical inventory count.
  • Planning, Forecasting & Budgeting: You take ownership of planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities for your areas of responsibility and support business functions in making sound financial decisions.
  • Management Profitability Reporting: Together with the Controlling team, you drive the implementation and further development of our management profitability reporting framework, creating a foundation for modern business steering and decision-making.
  • Reporting & Digitalization: You continuously enhance our reporting landscape and support the expansion of data-driven decision-making through Power BI. You contribute innovative ideas for automation, standardization, and increased transparency.
  • Process & Topic Ownership: You take ownership of defined controlling topics, continuously improve standards and processes, and ensure a high level of data and reporting quality.
  • Sparring Partner for Management & Executive Leadership: You prepare decision-relevant analyses and support management and executive leadership in both strategic and operational business matters.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Educational Background: You have successfully completed a degree with a focus on Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field of study – or you have acquired an equivalent qualification through vocational training, relevant professional experience, and additional professional certifications.
  • Professional Experience: You have several years of experience in controlling within a manufacturing environment, ideally with a focus on operations, production, or supply chain management.
  • Analytical Skills: You possess a strong affinity for numbers, think analytically and holistically, and can translate complex information into clear and understandable insights.
  • Business Partner Mindset: You see yourself not merely as a financial expert, but as an active business partner to the organization. You advise leaders on commercial matters, create transparency around financial performance, and collaborate closely with management, executive leadership, and our corporate parent company in a trusted and constructive manner.
  • Digital Affinity: You have advanced Excel skills and ideally possess experience with ERP systems and Business Intelligence tools, particularly Power BI. Knowledge of data models and reporting solutions is considered an advantage.
  • Accounting Knowledge: You have a solid understanding of German Commercial Code (HGB) accounting principles.
  • Working Style & Personality: You work in a structured, self-driven, and solution-oriented manner. At the same time, you impress with strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for change and continuous improvement.
  • Language Skills: You have excellent German language skills and good English language skills.
