As a (Junior) Business Controller Sales & R&D, you act as a business partner for our Sales and Research & Development functions, supporting leaders with meaningful analyses and decision-relevant performance indicators. You help drive the growth of our company through forward-looking order intake planning, professional cash flow and receivables management, and transparent project controlling. At the same time, you contribute to the further development of modern controlling tools and continuously improve our financial steering capabilities.

Your Responsibilities and Duties

  • Business Partner for Sales & R&D: You support our Sales and R&D departments as the primary contact for financial matters and work closely with departmental leaders to provide valuable business insights.
  • Order Intake Planning & Forecasting: You analyze order intake, market developments, and business trends, supporting the creation of reliable forecasts and planning scenarios that serve as the foundation for strategic decision-making.
  • Cash Flow Management: You support short-, mid-, and long-term cash flow planning, analyze cash movements, and help ensure full transparency regarding the company's financial position at all times.
  • Receivables Management: You monitor outstanding receivables, analyze payment trends, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve our working capital performance.
  • Project Controlling: You support development and investment projects from planning through completion, analyzing project costs, budgets, and business cases while contributing to effective financial project management.
  • Guarantees & Financial Instruments: You coordinate topics related to guarantees, sureties, and other financial security instruments. In this role, you closely collaborate with banks, business functions, and our corporate parent company while ensuring transparent documentation and follow-up.
  • Reporting & Analysis: You prepare meaningful reports, ad hoc analyses, and decision papers for management and executive leadership, while continuously enhancing existing reporting and analytical tools.
  • Sparring Partner for Management & Executive Leadership: You support strategic and operational decision-making by creating transparency around financial impacts, business performance, and economic relationships.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Educational Background: You have successfully completed a degree with a focus on Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field of study – or you have acquired an equivalent qualification through vocational training, relevant professional experience, and additional professional certifications.
  • Initial Professional Experience or Strong Practical Exposure: Ideally, you have already gained first experience in controlling, finance, project controlling, or a comparable function. We also welcome motivated graduates who have gained relevant experience through internships or working student positions.
  • Analytical Skills: You enjoy working with numbers, have a structured approach, and can translate complex topics into clear and understandable insights.
  • Business Partner Mindset: You see yourself as a trusted partner for business functions and leaders and enjoy working across departments. You collaborate closely with Sales, R&D, Management, and our corporate parent company to support informed decision-making.
  • Digital Affinity: You have advanced Excel skills and ideally gained initial experience with ERP systems as well as BI or reporting tools.
  • Accounting Knowledge: You possess a solid understanding of German Commercial Code (HGB) accounting principles.
  • Working Style & Personality: You work in a structured, independent, and solution-oriented manner. At the same time, you stand out through strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a high willingness to learn and grow.
  • Language Skills: You have excellent German language skills and good English language skills.
